E-Procurement & SRM-Award

In 2006, the Austrian Federal Procurement Agency (FPA), a 100% subsidiary of the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF), simultaneously won the two most important e-procurement awards in Austria with its “e-shop” project. The procurement platform on which the e-shop was based, was developed and implemented by Healy Hudson GmbH, once more confirming its position as one of Europe’s leading providers of electronic purchasing solutions for both the private and public sector.

The official ceremony for the two awards was held in the Vienna “House of Industry”, where the Federation of Austrian Industry and Austria’s Federal Association for Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BMÖ) presented project manager Johannes Wimmer with the "E-Procurement & SRM-Award" for the best supplier side solution. At the same time, Managing Director Andreas Nemec (Mag.) received the “ebiz egovernment award 2006" from State Secretary Franz Morak, an award sponsored by the Report Publishers in co-operation with Telekom Austria and the Austrian Federal Computing Centre.

The award-winning e-Shop was launched in January 2006 by the BBG, the Austrian government’s central procurement agency, and has become a genuine success. Today the platform is the largest public sector e-shop in Europe with over 12,000 registered users and over 400,000 items that can be ordered from around 300 catalogues. Average monthly order volume is currently around €10.5 million and looks set to continue rising.

The e-shop is based on the e-procurement platform developed by Healy Hudson which has been operated with great success for many years. This expert solution enables goods and services to be ordered directly from supplier catalogues efficiently and without any media discontinuity. The well-thought out workflow, which takes the different technical standards of larger and smaller suppliers into account, and the use of regional filtering capabilities guarantees that smaller suppliers can also be linked up to the system.
